Looking inside the block from the flywheel end.
The block is finished except for threaded holes to hold the valve lifter bushings
and all the threaded holes, etc. needed on the front for the distributor bracket,
water pump, oil galley and the oil pump.
The oil drain back channel under where the crankshaft gear will be in the gear case.
The three brass clamp disks that hold the flanged camshaft bearings in place.
Looking through a hole in the intermediate gear is how to see the cam gear timing marks.
The three crankshaft sub assemblies as they will be in the block. The center
shaft would have the bearings in place before mounting the removable disk.
A trial assembly of the crankshaft in the block with the pistons and connecting
rods installed to check for free rotation.
The center crankshaft bearing holder with the oil pressure relief valve and the
oil pump oil pickup tube. At left is the radiator fan shroud, the "O" ring belts,
and at bottom is the water pump discharge hose fitting and at top the oil pump.
The oil pump suction tube and a water inlet fitting.
Arrangement of the water pump, fan shaft, oil pump, oil galley, distributor drive
bracket and a cam galley end cap. The brass plug is the port to check the oil
pressure setting.
