Drip oiler
« on: June 05, 2013, 02:47:31 PM »
I have completed # 376 Farm Boy. It looks great and runs great, 25 - 30 revolutions per pop. But the drip oiler does not drip. Instead, the oil oozes to the side, and slides down to the outlet. I can't see it but the oil is going somewhere as the level goes down, the cylinder is lubricated and oil is not on the surface of the frame anywhere.

So it works, but it is irregular. The only fix I can imagine is to make the cavity under the spigot wider, requiring it to be made in two pieces soldered together, or maybe to change the shape of the spigot.

Has this I am probably being silly to bother about this, but if I pass this I am going to have to decide on another project, a frightening thought.  This engine has kept me out of trouble since July.

Has anyone out there faced this vital matter and corrected it?
